Use of the Health Belief Model to identify factors associated with owner adherence to elimination diet trial recommendations in dogs

Findings indicated that most prescribed elimination diet trials (EDTs) were not followed strictly. Interventions to help owners reduce perceived barriers, increase self-efficacy, and improve related knowledge could improve adherence to EDT recommendations and, thereby, increase the diagnostic utility of EDTs.

STUDY IN PROGRESS! I am curious about which factors are associated with adherence and persistence with immunotherapy recommendations for both dogs and cats receiving these prescriptions as part of their management for allergic skin disease.

The effect of written client education material on adherence to recommendations for topical therapy in dogs 
 

STUDY IN PROGRESS! I want to learn more about what helps our clients do the best they can in treating their allergic dog with topical therapy recommendations. Do handouts help? Or should we use other methods of instruction?
